a defensive standard-setter in UNCW history
Rachael Friesen-Norwood’s profile is tied to elite defense: UNCW notes she shared 2002-03 CAA Defensive Player of the Year honors and is recognized in the program’s all-time roster, a strong sign of high-level impact and legacy value[1][8]. Her differentiator is two-way toughness and pressure resistance rather than flashy scoring, making her the kind of guard coaches trust when the game gets chippy and possessions get precious[3][4].
