Freshman RHP David Wiser brings Stanford a big-league frame and live arm
In the 2026 season, David Wiser flashed immediate bullpen value for Stanford with a scoreless collegiate debut against Clemson, where he struck out one in a 1-2-3 ninth inning. He’s a 6-foot-3, right-handed freshman from Elk Grove with a fastball reportedly reaching 95 mph and a three-pitch mix that includes a slider and changeup, which gives him real upside as a power reliever. The nice extra: he arrived with a winning prep résumé, including two NorCal state titles and a 0.38 ERA in his senior year, so there’s some competitive bite behind the stuff.
