Former Cornell QB Now Leading Old Dominion Football Program
Ricky Rahne ('02) has transitioned from his playing days at Cornell into a head coaching role at Old Dominion University, where he's been since 2019. As a former quarterback with deep offensive expertise, Rahne brings a sophisticated understanding of the game. His tenure at ODU has showcased offensive innovation—the 2024 Monarchs led the country in red zone offense (95% scoring rate, 38-for-40) and set a single-season rushing record with 3,098 yards. While his overall record stands at 30-33, his ability to develop offensive systems and maximize efficiency in critical situations demonstrates coaching acumen. Rahne's background as Penn State's offensive coordinator (2017-2019) and his AFCA Board involvement reflect his standing in the coaching community.
