veteran Mississippi State DB with limited but proven SEC reps
In the 2025 season, Mississippi State defensive back Marcus Evans had logged 11 career games for the Bulldogs after transferring from Alcorn State, giving him a veteran edge even if his stat line is still modest. He looks like a depth-and-development add: experienced, physical enough for the DB room at 5-foot-11 and 197 pounds, and battle-tested from a local Starkville-to-Starkville path that usually signals toughness and buy-in. If you want a ready-made lockdown star, he’s not that yet; if you want a grinder who can help stabilize a secondary, there’s something here.
