Youngstown State’s Elite Block Leader & Defensive Anchor
Tara Fleming is a standout Center for Youngstown State Penguins, renowned as one of the program’s top career block leaders with 196 blocks, placing her second all-time behind Donna Djorovic[8]. Her differentiator lies in her relentless defensive intensity and physical presence in the paint, making her a perfect fit for teams needing a rim protector who commands attention without relying solely on stats. Fleming played for Youngstown State from 2001–05, and her legacy includes leading the team through grueling overtime battles, showcasing her resilience and competitive fire[3]. While she has transitioned into a 13-year career in collegiate athletics recruiting and now works as a Technical Recruiter, her basketball DNA remains evident in her strategic mindset and leadership[1]. Her personality traits—disciplined, resilient, and team-oriented—make her a high-value asset for any roster seeking a defensive anchor with proven big-game experience[5].
