the steady, coach-on-the-field safety who earned his shot at Hampton
In the 2006 season, Hampton listed Jermaine Mallory as its No. 1 strong safety, and the program described him as a devoted student of the game who is “always” in the right place at the right time and plays with special-teams toughness[1][2]. He entered camp with limited defensive experience but had already shown enough in spring drills to crack the lineup, which points to a player valued for reliability, instincts, and buy-in more than flash[1][2]. If your team wants a safety who brings discipline, physicality, and a dependable mentality, Mallory looks like a fit.
