Iowa RB with a tiny college stat line and a much bigger post-football story
Scott Rathke’s Iowa football impact was brief in the 2001 season — just 3 carries for 2 yards — but his profile stands out far more for what came after: a Navy SEAL career that suggests extreme discipline, toughness, and team-first competitiveness. He’s not a current on-field production fit to evaluate as an active Hawkeye running back, but as a character and culture reference, he reads like the ultimate grinder: resilient, intense, and mission-driven. If you’re looking for a highlight reel, this isn’t it; if you’re looking for grit, there’s plenty.
