seasoned Southern Miss guard with proven playmaking and defensive chops
In his Southern Miss days, Deonte Houston stood out as a steady, two-way guard who could run an offense and create extra possessions; in the 2012-13 season he ranked among Conference USA leaders in assists, steals, and three-point percentage, and he also set a Southern Miss single-season steals record with 64. He’s the kind of player coaches love for pace, ball security, and toughness—more table-setter than shot-hunter, with the added value of intensity and disruption on defense. If you want a guard who can organize, defend, and do the little things, Houston fits that mold.
