Cody Smith brings veteran linebacker production and a disruptive edge for Middle Tennessee
In his Middle Tennessee tenure, Cody Smith has been a productive, physical linebacker who flashes impact-play ability: he has posted seasons with 35 tackles, 3.0 sacks and 2 forced fumbles, and another with 27 tackles plus a sack and two more forced fumbles. He fits as a tone-setting defender because he has shown he can finish plays behind the line, generate pressure, and earn coaches’ trust with meaningful snaps and starts. For a team needing toughness, urgency, and a proven blue-collar presence, he looks like a solid fit.
