Jake Busson is UIC’s breakout bat: 19 homers, clutch damage, and MVC honors in 2026
In the 2026 season, Jake Busson emerged as one of UIC’s most dangerous all-around pieces, earning MVC Newcomer of the Week after a .538 week and finishing as the MVC’s home-run leader with 19 bombs. He also led UIC in hits, RBI, and slugging at one point, and his game carries real juice: power to all fields, timely contact, and enough versatility to handle INF/RHP duties. The fit is obvious for teams wanting an intensity-fueled run producer with postseason teeth and defensive flexibility.
