Nicholls DB Derrick Pittman: a low-usage defender who needs more live-game tape
Derrick Pittman is listed as a defensive back for Nicholls, but publicly available stat lines and recruiting-style background are thin, so the clearest read is that he’s still more of an evaluation prospect than a proven impact player. His value will depend on whether he brings sticky coverage, reliable tackling, and special-teams juice — the traits coaches usually want from a DB who can earn trust without flashy box-score production. The main question for a roster fit is upside versus certainty: he looks like the kind of player worth a closer look if your staff values development, discipline, and role flexibility.
