Tyriq McCord brings speed, edge, and playmaking upside to Miami's linebacker group
McCord stood out at Miami for his explosive burst and disruptive flashes, including a 4.5-second 40-yard dash as a recruit and a 2015 game against Pittsburgh in which he tied for the team lead with four tackles, added a sack, forced fumble, and quarterback hurry. He was also described by Miami as a vocal leader who worked to teach younger players the right attitude, which matters for teams wanting a high-motor, developmental defender with toughness and buy-in, not just raw athletic traits.
