High School Rebounding Phenom Transitioning to College Forward Role at Sam Houston
Deondra Young, a forward for the Sam Houston Bearkats, posted modest college stats of 2.5 PPG, 1.7 RPG, and 53.7 FG% in her most recent tracked season, but her high school dominance as District 19-5A MVP in 2018-19—averaging 23.4 points, 15.0 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks—highlights her raw athleticism, physicality, and rebounding tenacity from Bryan, TX. Reliable sources like ESPN and team bios praise her efficient finishing inside; she's a gritty role player with upside for teams needing blue-collar energy and board-crashing intensity off the bench.
