Sa’Mahn Johnson brings freshman scoring pop and shot-making upside to NIU
Sa’Mahn Johnson entered Northern Illinois in 2025-26 as a 5-foot-7 freshman guard who arrived with real scoring pedigree: she averaged 20 points per game as a senior at Reynoldsburg after helping win an Ohio Division I state title earlier in her high school career. In 2025-26, she has already flashed bench scoring juice, including a 16-point outing against Ohio with three made threes, and NIU has highlighted her as a spark scorer. The appeal is simple: compact guard, confident shot-maker, and an aggressive mentality that can fit a team needing instant offense.
