Dual-threat Southern Illinois QB with winning pedigree and a high-floor football IQ
JC Mirasola arrives at Southern Illinois as a developmental quarterback who has already shown real production and resilience: as a 2024 senior at Plant High School, he completed 63.2% of his passes for 1,765 yards and 22 touchdowns in eight games despite an injury-shortened season, and his high school career totaled 4,055 passing yards, 727 rushing yards, and 50 total touchdowns.[5][3] His differentiators are poise, mobility, and a track record of winning—he helped lead Plant to a state semifinal run as a junior and a state title contribution as a freshman—while also bringing strong academics and leadership indicators as a National Honor Society/Beta member.[5]
