SMU’s Melvin Williams: active-edge depth with intrigue, but current info is thin
Melvin Williams appears on SMU’s current football roster as a defensive end, but the available sources do not provide enough verified 2026 production to label him a stat-sheet star yet. That said, the profile is intriguing: SMU’s roster listings show he’s in the mix at a position where length, leverage, and edge-setting matter, and older SMU references suggest he’s been around the program long enough to understand the culture. For a team, the fit question is less about buzz and more about role—useful if you want developmental depth and competitive toughness, not a finished product.
