high-motor Virginia linebacker with proven production
Darren Childs is best known as a tough, instinctive linebacker who showed he could rack up tackles and play with real urgency; Virginia’s 2009 notes called out a career-high 15 tackles at Miami and said he was in the middle of his best season as a Cavalier, which points to a downhill, high-effort defender who can raise the floor of a defense. If you want a linebacker who brings intensity, physicality, and steady production rather than flashy measurables, Childs is the type of player who fits.
