Grayson Fitzwater is VMI’s record-setting power bat and one of the nation’s most dangerous mid-major first basemen
In the 2026 season, Fitzwater paired elite power with real strike-zone control, leading VMI in homers, walks, and RBIs while setting the program career home run and RBI records and earning SoCon Preseason Player of the Year honors. He stands out as a left-handed middle-of-the-order first baseman who can punish mistakes, draw intentional walks, and deliver in big series, with multiple national and league recognition from Baseball America, D1Baseball, and the SoCon. If you want a proven run producer with top-end college power and strong defensive reliability at first base, he’s a clear fit.
