Ball-hawking DB with early playmaking signs for Alabama State
Brandon Averett has already shown a knack for turning coverage into production, with ESPN listing him as an Alabama State defensive back who has recorded 1 interception and 1 pass breakup in his career stats. [1][6] The main reason to care is his takeaway upside: he appears to be a defender who can flip field position and create momentum-changing moments, which is valuable in a DB room. [6] Public stat detail is limited, so the clearest read is that Averett is a developing playmaker whose fit depends on whether your team values opportunistic coverage and special-teams-style intensity.
