Ryan Oakes brings strikeout stuff and proven starter-to-reliever versatility to Nevada
Oakes is a strike-throwing right-hander who has already shown he can win games in different roles, posting a 10-1 record with 87 strikeouts in 86.0 innings at Folsom Lake College in 2024, then continuing to miss bats for Nevada with 19 strikeouts over 24.2 innings in 2025.[2] He looks like a fit if you want a pitcher with competitive edge, the ability to work multiple innings or close, and a track record of handling leverage without flinching.[2] The main question is how his stuff translates against better lineups, but the production and flexibility are real.
