Asa Matthews brings depth and linebacker grit to Northern Colorado
Asa Matthews is listed as a Northern Colorado linebacker with current profile coverage on ESPN, but publicly available stat detail is limited right now, so the clearest read is role-based: he’s a defensive depth piece worth watching for fit, physicality, and consistency rather than headline numbers. At 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds on the Bears’ 2026 roster, he looks like a lighter, more pursuit-oriented linebacker who may be valued for range and special-teams utility. If your team wants an instinctive, hard-nosed defender who can grow into a bigger role, he’s the kind of name that can quietly become important.
