Luke Neiswonger flashed frontline punch for CMU before injury cut the season short
In the 2026 season, Central Michigan freshman RHP Luke Neiswonger went 2-1 with a 5.34 ERA, 47 strikeouts, and just 10 walks in 32 innings, including a debut gem with 8 Ks and 1 hit allowed over 5 shutout innings to win MAC Pitcher of the Week. His calling card is real bat-missing stuff and poise for a first-year arm, plus enough strike-throwing to avoid free passes. The catch: his season was injury-shortened, so the upside is clear, but durability and workload management are the big questions.
