Compact, road-grading Oregon State DT with veteran size and tackle presence
In the 2026 season, Chris Mengis is a junior defensive tackle at Oregon State listed at 6-0, 295, giving the Beavers a low-center-of-gravity interior body who can hold his ground and muck up run lanes. His profile suggests a sturdy, experienced trench player rather than a flashy stat-sheet artist, which is exactly the kind of tone-setter coaches value in the middle. If a team wants a physical interior defender who can absorb blocks and help the front stay intact, Mengis looks like a sensible fit.
