Jabari Nelson brings veteran DB grit to NCCU
Jabari Nelson is a seasoned North Carolina Central defensive back whose appeal is built on steady, physical play and experience rather than flash; in his 2017 NCCU season, he appeared in 10 games and finished with 31 tackles, a season-high 9 at Duke, plus a fumble recovery, showing he can show up in big spots and handle volume. His profile suggests a reliable, assignment-sound defender with toughness and a team-first edge—exactly the kind of DB coaches trust when they want consistency, energy, and fewer busted coverages.
