the high-IQ, walk-on forward who brought toughness and academics to OU
Read Streller was a 6-foot-8 forward for Oklahoma who carved out a small but memorable role as a hard-nosed, team-first walk-on. In the 2020-21 season, he appeared in 4 games and scored 4 points on 2-for-2 shooting, while his profile at Oklahoma also highlighted a 4.00 GPA and a 100th-percentile MCAT score — classic sign of a disciplined, intelligent grinder. He was not a volume stat guy, but he fit as a low-drama, high-character depth piece with real maturity and reliability.
