Elon’s Michael Irby: a live-armed righty with room to level up
In the 2026 season, Michael Irby was a redshirt sophomore right-handed pitcher for Elon, and the available stats show limited early usage but a clean baseline: 1.0 inning, no earned runs, no hits, and three strikeouts allowed/recorded in that line. His profile stands out more for projection than volume — a big frame, starter-friendly righty build, and a reputation from prep coverage for present strength. For a staff needing a development arm with upside, he looks like a worthwhile “bet on the body and the arm” candidate.
