Devon Bell brought true dual-specialist value to Mississippi State
Devon Bell was a valuable Mississippi State weapon because he handled both punting and kickoffs, giving the Bulldogs roster flexibility and field-position insurance beyond standard box-score stats. In his Mississippi State career, he played in 50 games, averaged 42.4 yards on 83 punts, and was also a highly ranked specialist recruit coming out of high school, which points to a strong leg and trusted game-day versatility.[3][2] He also set a school record by scoring 85 points in a season and hit 43 of 44 PATs, showing he could be reliable when used on place-kicking duties.[1]
