Saydrie Meoño brings elite speed, defensive reliability, and veteran upside to UCLA
Meoño is currently best viewed as a high-IQ utility piece: in her freshman season at UCLA, she appeared in 44 games mostly as a pinch runner or defensive replacement, scored 11 runs, and showed enough range to earn an outfield assist in a key win at No. 25 Washington. Her value is less about volume stats and more about fit—she adds speed, late-game defense, and a proven track record from Arizona, where she was a Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and batting champion in 2021. The main watch point is durability after a 2022 lower-leg injury.
