Demetrius Hill brings proven playmaking and downhill physicality to FIU’s secondary
Hill is a high-upside FIU defensive back with a track record of impact plays: he earned FWAA Freshman All-America honors in 2022 after posting 95 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 3 forced fumbles, and an interception, then followed with 19 tackles and a pass breakup in 2025 after playing all 13 games. His calling card is reliability and physicality in the box, with enough speed and hit power to trigger quickly against the run. For a team, he looks like a tough, experienced safety who can stabilize the back end and create turnovers rather than just rack up routine tackles.
