Michael Gomez brings veteran interior punch to Illinois State’s defensive front
A sturdy, experienced defensive lineman, Michael Gomez has been used as a steady rotational piece for Illinois State, and his 2021 roster listing shows he played in all 11 games while producing 12 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks. He looks like the kind of DL coaches trust because he’s compact, physical and battle-tested rather than flashy, with enough disruption to matter in the backfield. If your team wants a hard-nosed inside player who can hold gaps, bring effort every snap and add veteran depth, Gomez is a fit.
