Reliable Furman Kicker with Precision Leg and Special Teams Excellence
Ray Early was Furman's dependable placekicker during the 2012 season, demonstrating exceptional accuracy with a 75.4% field goal percentage and 93.0% extra point conversion rate while accumulating 249 points. Beyond raw statistics, Early showcased elite directional punting ability—averaging 57.3 yards with surgical precision, including two punts downed inside the 3-yard line against Wofford. His performance earned SoCon Special Teams recognition, highlighting his value as a dual-threat specialist. Early's combination of consistent leg strength, accuracy under pressure, and field position awareness makes him an attractive prospect for programs seeking a reliable kicker who can also contribute meaningfully in the punting game.
