Desiree Johnson brought size, rebounding, and rim protection to SDSU’s front line
In the 2005-06 season, Desiree Johnson was a rugged 6-foot-2 center who led San Diego State in rebounds and blocks while adding 7.5 points per game, giving the Aztecs a physical interior anchor.[2] She was described by the program as the team’s lone senior and a frontcourt player who brought “size, strength and maturity,” plus a reliable shot-blocking presence.[2] Her game was less about flash than grit: dependable boards, paint defense, and double-double upside, with 19 points against BYU and 6 blocks vs. Colorado State showing her ceiling.[2][3]
