SIU’s steady, high-IQ bucket-getter with record-level pedigree
Makenzie Silvey is a 5-foot-11 graduate guard for Southern Illinois who built a reputation as a polished scorer, savvy playmaker, and one of the program’s all-time greats, finishing her SIU career as the Salukis’ all-time leading scorer with 2,002 points and earning multiple MVC Scholar-Athlete honors. Her differentiators were efficiency, feel, and poise under pressure: she once averaged 15.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in the 2021-22 season, while also showing the kind of consistency and leadership coaches love in a floor general. If you value a guard who can create, compete, and raise the basketball IQ of a room, she’s your kind of player.
