Reliable Utah DB with veteran grit and academic polish
In the 2016 season, MacKay Dunn was a steady Utah defensive back who played in 13 games with 11 starts, finished with 43 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions, and 4 pass breakups. He stands out less as a splashy stat merchant and more as a dependable, assignment-sound corner with real toughness, proven by his walk-on path and willingness to earn his role. Utah also listed him as an All-Academic honorable mention, which fits the profile: smart, disciplined, and coachable—a nice fit for a defense that values reliability over flash.
