veteran Demon guard with a hard-luck résumé and real grit
In the 2026 season, Dwayne Watkins is known more for resilience than box-score fireworks: ESPN lists him at 2.2 points, 1.0 rebound, and 0.3 assists per game with 25.0% shooting, while Northwestern State’s history notes he overcame reconstructive knee surgery, a broken neck in a 2009 car accident, and another knee injury that ended his playing career. That kind of battle-tested toughness, plus a proven ability to keep grinding through adversity, makes him a culture-fit kind of guard if a team values heart, maturity, and perseverance over pure production.
