Blankinship enters Georgia Southern with real upside: he was ranked the No. 1 outfielder in South Carolina by Perfect Game, hit .396 in high school in 2024 with 36 hits, 11 doubles, 3 homers and 32 RBIs, and in summer 2026 he reached base consistently while posting a .408 slugging mark, 14 RBIs and 18 walks in 23 games. He did not see game action in the 2026 college season, so the appeal is still projection—speed, contact skill, on-base feel and a competitive resume that suggests a player who can grow into a useful run-producing outfielder.
