Wake Forest’s veteran southpaw brings size, strikeout flashes, and late-season momentum
Zach Johnston is a 6-foot-5 senior left-hander whose profile is built on mound presence, bullpen versatility, and swing-and-miss stuff; in the 2026 season, he was cited as a steady veteran arm and, during a strong late run, logged 13.2 scoreless innings with 17 strikeouts and just four walks. His 2025 season was uneven, though, as he posted a 7.77 ERA in 24.1 innings, so the appeal is clear: a big, experienced LHP with reliever value and upside if his command stays locked in.
