former Alabama State floor-spacer who brought veteran shot-making and tough versatility
Rodney Simeon was a 6-foot-5 guard/forward who gave Alabama State a reliable scoring punch in the 2016-17 season, leading the Hornets at 12.2 points per game and adding 4.4 rebounds while shooting 36.3% from the field and 32.9% from three[1][12]. His calling card was perimeter scoring—he hit 72 threes and scored in double figures 20 times, including a 25-point, 11-rebound double-double against Alabama A&M[1][8][12]. He also entered that year as a preseason All-SWAC pick, which says the league saw him as a proven, high-usage veteran fit, not just a stat sheet filler[1][12].
