Instinctive Marist linebacker with coverage chops and downhill pop
Eli Guzman profiles as a smart, physical linebacker whose calling card has been instincts, coverage ability, and a willingness to rush the passer; Marist’s own 2015 recruiting notes said he “takes off and tackles with authority,” which is exactly the kind of connective-tissue defender coaches love. In his Marist career snapshot, he added production as a reserve linebacker, including seven tackles, two pass break-ups, and a tackle for loss in the 2017 season, suggesting a player who can stay on the field in subpackages and do a little of everything. If your defense wants a reliable, assignment-sound LB who plays with urgency, Guzman fits the bill.
