Ari Watford brings blue-chip edge upside and run-defense juice to Clemson
Watford is a long, explosive Clemson freshman EDGE who entered with national top-20/top-30 recruiting buzz and a reputation as a big-framed run defender with pass-rush upside; his high school résumé included 12 sacks as a sophomore and 7 sacks on a state-title team in 2023. After battling a knee/ACL issue that delayed his Clemson debut, he logged 7 defensive snaps and 1 tackle in 2025 while redshirting, so the fit is about projection and traits as much as production.
