Illinois kicker David Olano is a proven clutch weapon
David Olano is the Illini’s current placekicker and one of the most reliable specialists on the roster, converting 20 of 23 field goals in the 2025 season (.870) while going 44-for-44 on extra points and hitting a long of 47 yards.[6][5] What makes him stand out is his clutch profile: Illinois has trusted him in pressure moments, including walk-off kicks in big spots, which signals composure, consistency, and NFL-style poise rather than just raw leg strength.[2][4] He looks like a strong fit for a team that values steadiness, accuracy, and late-game confidence.[6][8]
