Trey Dooley brings strikeout pedigree and late-inning punch to Rice
Dooley entered Rice after a decorated high school run in Tennessee, where he struck out 185 batters in 97.2 career innings and earned TBCA All-State and district MVP honors in 2023. Rice lists him as a 6-foot-1, 200-pound redshirt freshman RHP, and in an exhibition setting he already showed the kind of short-burst swing-and-miss value teams love, striking out two in a save appearance. The upside is obvious: power arm traits, competitiveness, and enough athletic background to hint at more development than the stat line alone shows.
