veteran UConn DL with size, persistence, and local-rooted toughness
Carlton Steer is a senior defensive lineman for UConn in the 2026 season, listed at 6-foot-2 and 273 pounds, bringing veteran depth and homegrown East Hartford grit to the Huskies’ front. UConn’s roster lists him as a senior DL, while ESPN shows career production that includes 2 solo tackles with no sacks, forcing little splash so far but suggesting a role built more on leverage, assignment discipline, and physicality than headline stats. He’s a good fit if a team wants an experienced, hard-nosed interior defender who can handle dirty work and keep the line honest.
