veteran Kent State linebacker with proven backfield instincts
Derek Jones brings a classic linebacker profile: a history of high tackle production, proven playmaking in high school, and the kind of toughness that shows up in run support and pursuit. Kent State’s roster bio lists him as a linebacker with a strong football background, but there’s no current-season stat line available on the official roster page, so the best read is on traits rather than box-score volume. He looks like a fit for a team that values physicality, discipline, and special-teams-ready versatility.
