Lavar Batts Jr. Brings Veteran Poise and Playmaking to UNC Asheville’s Backcourt
Batts has been a steady, experienced guard for UNC Asheville, with a 2024-25 stat line of 7.5 points, 2.3 assists, 2.0 rebounds and 41.8% shooting in ESPN’s latest season profile. His value goes beyond the box score: he has a track record as a quick, high-IQ point guard who can organize an offense, pressure defenses and provide leadership from the perimeter. He’s a solid fit for teams that need a composed facilitator more than a pure scorer, especially if they want a guard who can keep the game under control and compete with edge.
