Mac Gillespie is a high-contact, high-upside bat for UNCW with center-field value
In the 2025 season, Mac Gillespie hit .250 with 4 home runs, 30 RBIs, 40 runs scored, and 8 steals for UNC Wilmington, then punctuated it with a huge late-season surge that earned CAA Player of the Week honors. The appeal is his blend of speed, on-base feel, and enough pop to punish mistakes; he also brings center-field athleticism and a strong arm profile, which helps him fit a lot of lineups. He looks like the kind of player who can keep pressures on defenses while giving a coaching staff a dependable two-way everyday outfielder.
