Okon Godwin brings veteran edge and disruptive backfield juice to App State
Okon Godwin is a high-upside Appalachian State defensive lineman whose value comes from effort, physicality, and a knack for impacting plays in the backfield; in the 2017 season, he earned praise for a fumble recovery and for helping the defense contain mobile quarterbacks. The clearest differentiator is his motor: he plays with a chase-down mentality and a “secure the play” edge that coaches love, making him the kind of gritty, assignment-sound fit that can help a front stay disciplined and disruptive.
