Lexie Balfanz brings glove-first reliability and sneaky gap power to Utah Valley
Lexie Balfanz is a 5'5" catcher for Utah Valley who has already shown a defensive-first profile with enough bat-to-ball pop to matter in 2026. She appeared in 13 games with two starts as a freshman, picked up her first collegiate hit against UMass Lowell on Feb. 7, 2026, and added a pinch-hit double in the win over Southern Utah on May 1, 2026. What makes her interesting: coachable, proven winner, and a strong defensive presence from a high-achieving prep background, which screams steady roster fit rather than flashy stat-stuffer.
