Mercer’s Explosive, All-SoCon Edge Presence
Solomon Zubairu is a productive, high-motor defensive lineman for Mercer who earned All-SoCon Second Team honors in 2022 after starting all 11 games and posting 35 tackles; he followed that by continuing to show pass-rush juice and disruption, with reports describing him as a playmaking rusher and a reliable, physical presence on the edge. At 6-foot-0 and 245 pounds, he wins more with effort, burst, and leverage than sheer size, which makes him a strong fit for teams valuing relentless pursuit, toughness, and schemes that let him attack rather than just eat blocks.
