Old-School Akron LB With Proven Tackling Juice
In the latest available Akron materials, John Rachal was a senior linebacker who flashed as a reliable tackler, posting 8 tackles against Appalachian State in the 2016 season and multiple multi-tackle games that showed he could diagnose quickly and finish plays. His differentiator is steady, physical linebacker play—more instinct and effort than flash—which fits teams that value downhill pursuit, run support, and leadership over pure measurables. Publicly available recruiting and roster sources show him as a long-time Zips defender, but current 2026 performance data is not readily available, so his value is best judged through his proven production and toughness profile rather than recent stat lines.
